This was a nice dense pinot that came on more on the syrah/cab style, which I sort of like every now and then. Nice thick coatign mouthfeel but no bitterness or off flavors. Some bright tastes as there is a little acidity going on. Very nice pinot in an average vintage. Would call it medium bodied leaning toward full. Far as dense as this was for Pinot, it was never too much which speaks a lot to the balance of the wine. Nothing stood out over other components; the acidity, the fruit, nor the tannins. Would give this another 5-7 years tops. The 4 years in the bottle already have made a more integrated wine, although I didn't have one on release to relatively compare. Post a Comment

On the palate the wine presented notes of sweet raspberry, cherry cola, violet and tar. This was followed by mild baking spice and soft notes of mushroom.
