Retired software engineer and 20 year Navy veteran. Loved and studied wine and wine making for the past ten years. (Before that I was a rum drinker.) When we came to the Oregon coast (moved our Bed & Breakfast) our new house (Ona Beach B&B) had a big undercroft (basically a ground-level basement). So I dug out some room, poured some concrete, laid down black plastic and Pergo, put in some Apex racks and Voila - perfect wine cellar. Since then I have enjoyed going to wineries and festivals (especially Newport Seafood & Wine festival) and filling it up!

Wednesday, August 11, 2010 - Gorgeous color. Vibrant nose. Luxuriant, spicy black fruit palate. Long, long finish. Rivals the Troon 02 that brought tears to our eyes. We love it. Going to contact the winery.

Wednesday, August 04, 2010 - Excellent full-bodied pinot noir. Rich barnyard nose leads to tangy front palate, fruity mid-palate and balanced finish.

Monday, June 14, 2010 - Wow! Almost as amazing as the '02! Gorgeous color and nose (after breathing for an hour and a half). Texture and balance abundant. Tannins? Are you kidding? All gone to flavor. This wine is awesome! If I had any more I'd keep it for another 5 years! (Yeah right!) A touch of oak was fine. It kept the earthy spice in balance. Can't wait to taste the 04!
