Wednesday, August 11, 2010 - Earthy with dark fruit, clove, cedar, crushed rock, and wood smoke. Tremendous wine with multiple layers that reveal themselves throughout the smooth attack, lush mouthfeel, and extremely long finish. Decanted for an hour and enjoyed over the next two. Wonderful now but will cellar well for years.

Sunday, August 01, 2010 - Wonderfully dry and refreshing right now but not showing much of its stuff at this young age. Cellar to get more bang for your buck or drink now for a summer quaffer.

2000 Chateau Montelena Cabernet Sauvignon The Montelena Estate

Wednesday, July 28, 2010 - Delicate cherry, cedar, sage, and pencil lead flavors. While nicely balanced and pleasant with the meal, the light mouthfeel and short finish are noticeable. Drink up.
